Electron Microscopy Group

The group is involved in microscopic inspection of surfaces and materials, including elemental analysis, which provides a detailed view of the composition and structure of the samples being examined. For these purposes, we use state-of-the-art instruments such as the Tescan LYRA electron microscope and the AFM and SNOM scanning microscopes (NT-MDT). These instruments allow us to perform microscopic machining and ion beam modification of surfaces, which is crucial for precise and controlled changes in material properties.

In particular, our group is involved in fundamental research on different types of energy harvesters, which are able to extract energy from the environment, and perovskite solar cells, which represent a promising technology for future generations of solar panels.

In the field of energy harvesters, we focus on the development of devices that can efficiently convert mechanical energy, thermal energy or vibration into electrical energy. Our work in this area includes both theoretical studies and experimental testing and optimization of new materials and structures. In the field of perovskite solar cells, we focus on structure and defect analysis, which is essential for their commercial exploitation. 

The group boasts significant scientific achievements and long-term collaborations with leading academic institutions and industrial partners. Our results are regularly published in prestigious scientific journals and presented at international conferences. Our group members are recognized experts in their fields and actively contribute to the development of new technologies and methods in microscopy, materials science and nanotechnology.
